I believe everyone has the right to their own views, no matter how repugnant. I believe in academic freedom and the unfettered exchange of ideas. But, our society and colleges today do not - hateful speech or even speech that is not PC is often censored and condemned. But, this Professor continues to have the support of the Trinity administration? Sounds like a double standard?
If he made these hateful statements about any other racial group, he'd already be fired.

Why is Trinity College trending with the rest of Academia in the drift to enclaves of close-mindedness, intolerance, and P.C. doctrine? Why are radical racist views openly espoused by faculty given sanctioned approval by administrators and the academic culture, while in the classroom there is a chilling of civil discourse, rational dialogue and free debate?

Mr. Williams' words and actions (such as posting on FB) are nothing less than hateful, racist comments promoting violence and racial strife. There is no reasonable, logical or sensible reason to allow him to continue to be employed by Trinity. He is a disgrace. His hateful example cheapens the value of a Trinity diploma. This vile and vitriol-espousing man should not be the face of Trinity. There is no valid reason that he has not been fired, and that reflects poorly on the school, its president and board of trustees.
