I have lived with TN for the past 5 years. I am in pain 24/7. I recently applied for disability but due to my condition rareness, I must wait and continue sending medical documentation to support my claim.

My mum suffers with this condition and the current capabilities of the medical profession have been insufficient in curing or assisting her, so I support this programme of awareness

This is a totally debilitating disease. Intense unrelenting pain. It won't kill you but will make you wish ypu were dead just to find relief.

I woke up from sleep one night because I felt like someone had hit me in the face with a baseball bat 17 years ago. Since then I have been on medication and had to retire as an ICU nurse due to getting the pain at work one day. Whether radiation for an acoustic Neuroma caused it, remains to be seen. Thank God I am under control with just Topamax. Research is needed ! The pain is horrendous!

I know the pain and how debilitating it is trying to work whire suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia. I also know and understand the struggle of not being able to drive or focus while under the influence of all the medication which is necessary just to keep you pain free.

Trigeminal Neuralgia is definitely a disease that needs recognition & research for a cure. Until then, it sure is a disability.
