I've suffered with Atypical TN for 4 1/2 years now and all I can say is; I would not wish this on my worst enemy. I can certainly understand why it's called the suicide disease. I believe mine was brought on by 45 years of cumulative injuries staring with high school wrestling and a severe auto accident at 18 years of age, on to what seemed like small neck injuries in the working world. I beg WHO to seriously consider adding TN to their list of illnesses as this has completely turned my life upside down, from a hardworking man who took pride in doing a good job at a position I loved, (Cad Designer), to someone who can't even get out of bed some days. It took me 3 years to get diagnosed and another year to find the correct medicine simply to make some of the days bearable. Thank you.

It is going into my third year with this pain that I had no clue that it was TN until the end of last year. My life as I had known is so different now. I felt like something has taken over me. The pain I live with is something I don't wish on others. I only hope and pray for relief to come one day. Now I understand what chronic pain is and how real it is. I hope for this awareness day lets others know about this painful disease.

So glad that the awareness of this horrible illness is being spread worldwide. It not only affects me physically but mentally. Bring on any research.
