If people only could understand the toll this takes on your entire life, getting worse with time. Patients don't ask for much but any relief would be appreciated.

I was diagnosed with TN in 2006, I was only 22. It breaks my heart to see my mom looking at me, trying to help me when she knows she can't do anything. Be strong for your daughter. It is hurting us physically but knowing that you are there for her is a big help. :-)

I suffer daily with this thing called TN, and we need help and bring awareness for all to know.

My husband, b-i-l, s-i-l, niece, nephew ALL HAVE THIS AFFLICTION (I call it a curse!) Several have had the gamma knife surgery..we are praying Merle is a candidate for same. Everything I've read says it is NOT hereditary...I beg to differ. The pain is unbelievable. franki

Trigeminal neuralgia destroys lives. I live with a sufferer, and have seen what a terribly painful, debilitating condition it is. Research is needed into causes and treatments!

Terrible disease. No one should have to suffer with present medical advancements.

I have suffered with pain since June 1998 after cavernous sinus meningioma brain tumor surgery.

I have a dear friend with this problem and it is so debilitating.

The more people that know about this terrible illness the better - there has to be more awareness, and hopefully this can lead to research and better, targeted medication to ease the suffering.

This is an illness, that leaves people very alone as you do not look ill. It is very easy to start to doubt your sanity, a some people imply it is a imaginary pain.

For my daughter-in-law, Amanda, who has suffered for 9 years. It is truly a helpless feeling to witness someone suffer this intense pain. Can you imagine not being able to talk, smile, laugh, drive in a car or EAT. I cannot and that is just the beginning of her triggers.
