I suffer from TN... Everyday it's excruciating pain!! I'm on highest dose of 3 anti convulsants... Plus muscle relaxants and pain relief... I can't get the Mvd operation to sort out the compressed blood vessel as it's too dangerous for me... Medication is not touching the pain of the electric shocks, pins and needles, brain freeze around your face, ice pick stabbing the inside of your ears, burning mouth and the list goes on.... Imagine all that pain at once... That's what we have to deal with... Research and awareness needed for this debilitating neurological disease!!

I have suffered from TN and ATN since 2009..well longer really but that was when I was diagnosed..I have had every med under the sun and after my fourth brain surgery I was left with AD which is a neurologist's worst nightmare so they say..well believe me its an even bigger nightmare for the patient. .I have never known pain like it and it is 24/7..never a break from pain..I had a neuro stimulator fitted a year ago which didnt help and iam now waiting to have a brain stimulator fitted in the hope that helps..iam on countless meds and am a totally different person to what I used to be..it saddens me that I can no longer do the things I used to do..TN, ATN and AD are a living hell..I also have many other nerve problems but they dont even come close..

As a Trigeminal Neuralgia sufferer I have first hand knowledge of just how little the medical and dental community know about this horrendous disease. For 20 years I have dealt with misdiagnoses, failed treatments/procedures/surgery, and countless scary medications. MANY TN patients (including myself) are being told that there is NOTHING MORE I CAN DO FOR YOU! Clearly research is needed for Trigeminal Neuralgia!
