I was diagnosed just last June after almost 4 years of suffering with what my doctors mostly told me was "all i my head" (no pun intended I guess.) Or "beyond their scope" My pain set it during Orthodontic treatment ( after a interproximal reduction in which I was badly cut to be exact) which I began at 32 years old in 2009. Just last January I begged my oral surgeon to extract two teeth. While it did mildly alleviate some symptoms it did not fix the situation and continues to feel worse with everyday that passes. Most days I feel so totally alone in this struggle but seeing so many comments here somehow gives me hope.

19, diagnosed with TN at 17. "I wanna get all my teeth taken out, I wanna die!!" Nobody without it can understand. I also don't understand how the pain doesn't kill you cause it shits all over birthing a child and there's no light at the end of it... Well maybe. (Suicide)

My daughter was just diagnosed with TN on top of Marfan syndrome. It breaks my heart to see her in so much pain!!!!

I think that any condition that can cause the pain and agony this disease deserves all the attention the world can give towards finding a cure!

I have TN and it the most excruciating pain I have ever felt. It keeps me from going outside on a windy (or even slightly breezy) day. I panic when I am in large crowds that I might get an attach and everyone will look at me like I'm a freak.

My father suffered over a year of pain before it was diagnosed as Trigeminal Neuralgia. He had his tooth removed, thinking it causes the pain, suffered severe anxiety attack and depression. Although, he still gets the pain sometimes, the good thing is we know why and we know the right specialist to to.
