International Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day October 7th!

My husband Jon suffers from TN. I work at a major hospital in Tulsa, I am going to do all I can to spread awareness.

This needs to be pushed for! To many blue collar friends are out there suffering and fighting this. This has COMPLETELY changed a good friend of mines life forever and it saddens me just as much his life being changed, his family and friends having to watch, go day by day hoping, praying something happens for the good and he over comes this. Very sad this particular dieases isn't looked into as much, with of all the other medical experiences that money is used for.

My brother is suffering from this and i pray they find a cure so he can enjoy rue things he loves again.

I has dx in 2009 with TN1 on the right side, had a MVD, Nov, 2011. I was pain free for 13 1/2 months then pain came back along with ATN on the right side and now it is starting to go bilateral the TN1 to the left now for the last year. I have only had this disease since I was 43, it has been a long and hard 6 yrs, seems like 100 yrs. The people that have this disease and the caregivers and family and friends that stick it out and stay with us and care for us are some of the most amazing and strongest people there are, we have to be.........but we can't do it all we need help, it is time for WHO and health care to take notice and help and treat us with the respect we deserve and the care we need!!!! WE MATTER!!!

When I was first diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia, I had never heard of it. Even my doctor was not familiar with it. I was misdiagnosed at first. It took months to get the correct diagnosis so that I could be treated with the correct medication. Awareness is still an important issue.

I also have TN and strongly support and agree with this petition and the requests it contains. Thank you very much.

Please help these people with this painful illness. Don't let them suffer.

This is a disease that has gone unnoticed, misdiagnosed and misunderstood for far too long. Please support funding and research initiatives for Trigeminal Neuralgia. It's time. Those suffering with this cruel disease deserve the chance at a better quality of life, and their families and friends will be so grateful for the medical community's added support, as well.

My partner has suffered from TN and luckily it is currently in remission. For months no one knew about TN and that this was what was causing her facial pain. Please help increase awareness of TN so that others can get support and treatment.
