Triboard Policies Unsafe and Unfair To Local Children

I went through a Jeremy decosta who says they walked the distance from our home to.school and seen no cause for concern. We have homeless encampments all over, increased crime and violence, traffic and the changes to our summer and winter weather. Waling 35 minutes in 40 degree heat or -24 is ridiculous.

We are in limestone district with tribaord and my children have to walk 2 km, 35 minutes to school. I am a seperated parent working 12 hour shifts and they will.not make an exception so that atleast 1 highschool child can ride with their Public school brother to watch him at home. The days I am off I drive them. I had to leave work today because of the sudden storm, risk my job so I could make sure my children got home safely.

We need to keep children safe.

this is ridiculous and something needs to be done, there are far too many kids being put in harms way to save a buck.

children shouldn't have to walk in cold temperatures for any length of time! I don't even have kids and I completely agree with this petition !

I remember where you Live Kate. It would be quite the far walk for you as well !! Its ridiculous, im keeping my son home half the time and hes missing out on activities. He was star of the week this week and has only made it twice, due to poor weather. :(

My little guy doesn't go to school yet, but this already worries me. I don't drive, so I won't be able to drive him.

I know of a pedophile who frequents Amherstview on a daily basis and for that I don't not allow my daughter to walk to school or home from school and that's just a safety concern among the others like weather.

i believe this needs to be dealt with so no little kids have to suffer walking a mile or more in this frigid temperatures and catch colds or suffer in hospitals due to the schools not caring so off the high horses and get more busses for children whether its a mile 2 miles .5 miles or not they cannot walk that far its sickening

I agree! As a caregiver the sidewalks are brutal and to walk kids in the middle of the road cuz they don't salt or plow the sidewalks is dangerous!!
