We, the undersigned, express our concern for the environmental impact of permanently removing the trees along State Highway 95 (Oak Ridge Turnpike). We propose that 1. Five hundred trees/landscaping material be bought by the City of Oak Ridge and be planted within the city as a memorial to the previously lost trees along State Highway 95 (Oak Ridge Turnpike) 2. Shrubbery be planted on the sides of the road in an appropriate manner as to allow visitors and residents to see the re-vegetation intentions of the City of Oak Ridge and the Tennessee Department of Transportation (T.D.O.T.). 3. Future plans for widening the west end of State Highway 95 (Oak Ridge Turnpike) be evaluated by the City of Oak Ridge to minimize loss of existing vegetation and provide for re-vegetation where needed.
