Yes tree trimming should be considered skilled trade because not everyone can do this work. Know that first hand. And it dangerous as hell. Thanks.

We are out here risking our lives around hot power lines we need what linemen get

Using chainsaws around power lines should be reason enough for people who don’t know to realize that this is skilled labor. Let’s add in the fact that not only are they keeping the right of way clear for the city, they are doing it in the rain, sleet, snow and extreme heat, they are also doing a technical job of removing trees in back yards and do it without damaging property. I don’t think people realize how much thought, training and skill it takes to rig pieces of trees around high voltage lines and buildings/fences/whatnot.

We work around "hot" power lines, and lives have been lost for simply touching them. It takes plenty of skill to apply the knowledge and prevent damages

They risk themselves every day and do a job that many couldn't. Long hours, low pay, and dangerous work. These guys are skilled and professional and they deserve recognition for their trade.

This is over due, these men and women risk their lives daily to complete a service in lousy weather at best. But mostly a job most people would not even try. Do what's best for these people!!!
