My favorite Disney movie ever made. Watched it again tonight with a bunch of my fraternity brothers we all loved it. Every character was brilliantly made and the general concepts of the movie are incredible.

Treasure Planet has and always will be my all time favourite Disney film and one of my all time favourite movies. The story and characters are written so beautifully to form a grand adventure full of emotion and wonder. The bond between Jim and Silver is magnificent with Silver eventually becoming the Father figure and guide Jim always lacked growing up. I love watching how both characters change throughout the course of the film and how they are able to connect in such a way that softens the pain they have experienced in the past, particularly Jim and the pain of losing his Father and subsequently becoming estranged from his Mother while feeling rejected by society. They both help each other see a potential within themselves they were previously unaware of and allow each other to realize what really matters most to them in life; they enable one other to find themselves. Jim has got to be one of my favourite characters of all time as he is very easy to relate to both when I was younger and also now that I'm older. We have all felt his struggle at the beginning of the film: believing you don't belong while fighting to find your own way in life, feeling others around you won't accept you for who you truly are. This movie helped me throughout school and with people telling me I couldn't achieve my dreams while giving me hope for the future. All around it is a fun, daring, and inspiring story that understands you and shows you that you are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for. It really is a shame it didn't do better. I would love for there to be a sequel and believe it has earned enough of a cult following that it would be successful, but sequel or not I hope that one day Treasure Planet earns the recognition it deserves.
