We need to do something in the borough because as soon as they are removed from one area they go on to settle in another part of Merton.

This has been going on for many years. My memory suggests that it all started in the early 2000s. The feeble attempts of using easily moveable logs was cristicised by the Friends of Cannon Hill Common. How right they were.
Why hasn’t Merton followed the lead of Sutton who have been very effective with their earth mounds. Would have saved us local council taxpayers she’d loads by now!

This has been a problem when the conservatives were in power as well. I believe it’s the council officers who are at fault.

The logs are ugly and totally ineffective, please install effective boundary protection.

They had the same problem outside of St Helier hospital, made mounds and no longer a problem, its not rocket science!

Come on LBM get your act together and stop these travellers ruining our community and its beautiful spaces. If other Councils can a nd have done so then no excuses for ours not to follow suit.
