Travel restrictions on Isle of Wight ferries

Only essential key workers and goods vehicles should be allowed to travel to the Island

Restrict all non essential travel on the ferries to the isle of wight

There should be no travel other than goods and key workers and ALL must be thoroughly checked

Crazy asking us to trial an app while people continue to travel here for non essential reasons. I will not be downloading the app while this continues, there is no point.

I am totally against tourists/holiday makers coming to the Island during the Corona virus, I’ve been told by a friend that holiday makers are staying at the Caravan Park in Perowne Way and have been advised to tell anyone who asks that they live in one of the mobile homes there!! This is totally unacceptable....and a risk to Islanders...

Stop people coming on island close ferries use only for food and medical stuff

I cancelled my little break to the island, as I deemed it unfair to travel from the mainland to the island. Considering we are still under lockdown Wightlink should be fined for moving so many people about on bank holiday weekend.

If there’s any communities that can be better protected against this virus then do all you can to protect them !

Should have been in place since the beginning of the outbreak

Need an amnesty ferry for all those that are here in their second homes so they are not too embarrassed to leave.

I believe Cornwall had closed its borders to non-essential travel. We should be doing the same. The influx of holiday people had surged in Ventnor since Bank Hol. They are traipsing around the town and going out and about. It is not fair on us when we are trialling an App that visitors may not even bother with.

It's the only way to secure ourselves!

For our own safety visitors to the island should be restricted. How can the islanders keep track of the virus if people from the mainland come over here as Covid carriers and then return to the mainland?

SO many 2nd home owners arrived yesterday & today for Vank Holiday Wkend. WHY? They think paying Council Tax gives them the right to put everyone at higher risk. Selfish, thoughtless, inconsiderate. What if they need NHS services? 3 asked me “What’s Open?” . Hopefully if they can’t eat out in a posh restaurant they’ll go back where they stupidly came from. Yes WHY hasn’t the Govt. authorised ferry companies to monitor people BEFORE allowing them to travel TO the Island? Several foreign families arrived at their second homes here before and after lockdown, self-isolated and are now adding to the demands on the NHS, delivery, and other services. Utterly self-interested.

Makes sense to stop tourists coming over. It's called containment. It's bad enough a suspected murderer was able to come over. I miss the parks in southampton, but, i'am not selfish enough to risk other people's lives, to take a jolly, over to the mainland. The police in other counties have been turning holiday makers away. Why can't we? I'm not saying, restrict the no.s of ferries running, esp when it makes it harder for KEY WORKERS to come here. But, tourists, no. If we could have a vote of no confidence in the isle of wight council, i know which way, i'd be voting.

We are keeping this at bay on the island, if we are letting tourists/holiday makers in without being tested, then it, and the new app will all be in vain.

Need ferry to get to mainland for every emergency etc

Nobody should be allowed to travel here for anything other than essential travel, the ports should be policed and all travel closely monitored, the ferry firms won't and are not doing this. It's a vital part of the new app that we are properly isolated.
