Google continues to ignore this inconsistency while they leave their own apps looking unfinished and dated. I am tired of waiting for them to fix what they broke so keep pushing this until they finally pay attention.

its so annoying how some apps match the status bar and others just leave that ugly black block at the top. google needs to get it together and just standardize this across the board already.

This is stupid : Google knows that translucent system bars are unnecessary and often not recommended because they can have a wrong/bad usage with the global app design/ergonomics... but who care WE All want them !
