Transit Cape Breton needs a lot of work. The Transit System as become unreliable and unsafe. One may ask why the system is unreliable, simply the buses are not stopping at scheduled stops (or skipping right by them), and Drivers expecting riders to wave to the drivers in order to be picked up, Drivers are not informing dispatch of delays, so on and so forth. One may also ask why the system is unsafe, first of all, Buses are traveling at speeds over the speed limits, Drivers are not paying attention to the road as much as they are chatting with a regular rider, Drivers are not slowing down for potholes and such, Screws from windows and advertisement postings, so on and so forth. The lists continue. Transit Cape Breton Mission Statement reads as follows......... "To operate a safe, efficient, dependable and effective public transportation system with customer satisfaction being the leading factor in the future progress and growth of the department." This is a false statement from start to finish. The System needs more scheduled stops with more scheduled times. The System has become almost unusable to the working person. Something has to be done about this. This is a time where all of those who depend (Or would want to depend) on the transit system to go about their everyday lives to step up and express your thoughts, feelings, and stories.
