We should be opening communications and letting ideas live or die on their merit, not closing communications, thus preventing the exploration of the terrain of information.

Blacklisting and de-platforming are generally deployed to disincentivize thought deemed heterodox (or to at least appear orthodox). It often has precisely the opposite effect. Further, such action demonstrates a attitude of intellectual obviation which one may call, I would contest, cowardly and as a consequence, ill-advised.

The United States Transhumanist Party supports this petition for the reasons articulated herein and encourages all individuals, both within and outside the transhumanist movement, to sign it in the spirit of unity, rationality, and reconciliation.
