Transferral of Australia’s war powers from Prime Minister and Cabinet to the Federal Parliament is long overdue, as long as there is a provision for Prime Minister and Cabinet to respond rapidly if Australia is attacked.

I can’t believe this isn’t already the case. We are a peace-loving democracy and should never go to war without the assent of Parliament.

Australians have loyally turned up to every war we were asked to.
Lives, confidence, treasury have been lost.
Australia's vulnerability is the responsibility of our elected representatives. And those representatives must be included in any decisions that commit Australian forces to ALL conflicts, including direct threat.

All of the parliament should vote
And it would have to be a large majority to reflect all Australians
I remember protesting along with a huge number of fellow Australians
John Howard’s decision to invade Iraq to no avail

I trust Parliament, particularly the senators, in these matters rather than the Executive, PM or House of Reps.
