Trans Rights at MU
Being able to go to the bathroom is a basic human right. Having gender binary bathrooms in academic buildings limits the ability of Transgender students to function in the public, academic sphere at Marquette. It is not enough to say that Marquette stands with its students. We must actively stand up for all of our fellow students. Because the most stressful part of a school day shouldn't be trying to decide which bathroom you use.
This petition is aimed at telling the university that we, Marquette students, faculty, and staff, want gender inclusive bathrooms, like the single-stall bathrooms in Marquette Hall, in every academic building on campus, at least one bathroom per building. We demand concrete action towards making Marquette University more inclusive to all students, faculty, and staff.
