We, the under-signed, believe that the rights of the residents of Traherne Lodge, Keeling House and Knaggs House, should be heard, and that the mobile telephone mast being located on the roof of Traherne Lodge should be removed immediately for the following reasons:

1) The long term health implications are inconclusive and there is some evidence to suggest that living close to a mobile telephone mast can cause a detrimental effect to health. We do not wish to risk our own health for the next 20 years, as per the agreement made by Richmond Housing Partnership.

2) Richmond Housing Partnership has not consulted residents on the erection of this mast and the information that was sent to residents gave less than 1 week before the planned works started. This has not given enough time for the residents to be consulted and the opinions of the residents have not been listened to.

3) The limited information supplied by Richmond Housing Partnership is incorrect. There is not a Vodafone mast already on this roof, but this was in fact removed some 5-7 years previously. We were told that the new mast would be of a similar structure to the Vodafone mast and that this would be totally out of site and not be seen. This structure protrudes in excess of 7m from the top of the roof line and can be seen from the neighbouring roads.

4) By Richmond Housing Partnership’s own admission, the £7,200 per annum fee from T-Mobile and 3 Mobile, after corporation tax and administration fees, will not provide any significant monetary benefit to the residents of Traherne Lodge, Keeling House or Knaggs House. As it has also been confirmed that this income will not be used towards the maintenance of the buildings, we don’t believe that this income warrants the erection of the mobile telephone mast.

5) The mobile phone mast structure erected on the roof of Traherne Lodge is an eye-sore and is in the direct line of site of many residents. There is significant concern amongst residents that the value of their own properties are being reduced as a direct result of the erection of this large and ugly structure.
