Traffic solutions for LCS drop off and pick up

Many schools have solved this pain point so some good learnings exist nearby for LCS to learn from

Rezoning part of Loch Maree St (close to Moverly Rd) to 10 minute parking (like Storey St) would be helpful. We just want to drop off and pick up our kids without having to worry about getting fined (and potentially losing our licence).

A new solution must be possible, we aren't the only school that has had this issue

Agree. The situation is untenable and will only get worse over Xmas.

The police presence has not been helpful or positive towards parents trying to park legally for the morning drop. There is also not enough parking in the afternoon without having to use the 2 minute zone - where another person must stay in the car. It isn’t practical to have another adult present. I suggest a drive-through area where parents can move through fluidly.

Please help us to work with the council to make it easier and not illegal to drop off our kids to school

The current situation is very tough and unfair for parents of the kids in French school.

The act of the police patrolling around the school with a pure evil purpose of finding faults and fining parents for dropping off their children to school is just very disrespectful and evil. There are more criminal acts such as speeding on school zones than having a parking faults which does not cause life.

All the houses that are opposite the school on Lochmaree St have off-street parking so there is ZERO reason why that should be a kiss and go and not a 5 or 10 min limit (like it is on story st) allowing parents to drop their kids SAFELY

Need a long term solution from the school and the council

I guess those cops have no children, no family, they’re pricks and only target private schools (LCS) and no public school (next door). It’s all about money and the road regulations is just an excuse $$$

Definitely needs to be addressed for a better solution. Drop off and pick up can be so challenging and time consuming.

Disappointing that neighbors would act in this way. A busy pick up and drop off period is surely expected when one moves next to a school?

I would be very supportive of a bus option, as the lack of ymca spots available makes of very tricky for me as a single parent juggling work and the commute for pick up and drop off.

Fully support the proposed solutions. The situation is untenable.

Please let’s solve this once and for all, so kids can be safely dropped off at school more conveniently for both parents and neighbours.
