Totally agree, we also struggle to cross Brighton Terrace at Wakefield (on foot or wheeling a bike). It's often a sprint on the favour of someone waving us across, and we hope we've understood their hand signal correctly. Such a dangerous crossing, yet well-used by many in the wide community, as there is no other (better) option. Traffic lights at this intersection, and Brisbane & Wakefield as you've suggested, would be of great assistance to many, including you Jacob, thank you for putting this petition together.

Yes!! My kids want to be able to ride safely to school but it’s so dangerous crossing the roads

My twin baby girls, toddler son and myself nearly were collected by a car which loss control at the Wakefield st/Brighton tce intersection as we crossed the road. As the first on the scene, I gave first aid to the driver & 2 passengers. Till this day, I thank god that we were not hit & it wasn’t my family injured or dead. I hate using this intersection and worry for the safety of all who use it. Please put lights here as the traffic has increased considerably due to the local M1 traffic now diverting through Sandgate due to recent link road closure.

Totally agree lights are needed at Wakefield/Brighton Tce. Have seen many close calls there. At peak times it is very hard to cross that intersection and people get impatient and take risks.

Great work Jacob and so totally agree so dangerous at Wakefield intersection. People get impatient and that's when accidents happen. Let's help prevent anymore in the future.

We also us both intersections and have had many close calls. I would really like to see the school zone extended to include the full Dowse Lagoon circuit plus traffic lights at 5 ways and the Brisbane /Wakefield st intersection. This would also slow traffic into the roundabout at the top of Brisbane street. Thanks Julie
