The purpose of this petition is to acquire enough signatures to significantly persuade city officials to re-evaluate the activation schedules of the hwy 27 traffic lights through Dayton TN. The time it takes to travel from one end of town to the other is rather unreasonable when compared to the way traffic flows on other roads with mutiple traffic lights (hwy 153 in Hixson for example). It is believed that traffic lights in such close proximity such as the ones in Dayton should activate on a dedicated sequenced time schedule instead of a "trip light at random" sequence. If nothing else, through the power of a true democracy this petition may at least open up some investigation into helping the citizens of Dayton travel more efficiently.
