Armadale Ave /Weatherell St /Nelles Ave

Councillor Saundercook We the residents of Armadale Ave /Weatherell St / Nelles Ave would like you to address area traffic issues. Armadale Ave / Weatherell St / Nelles Ave need improvement in traffic and parking management because of their unique geographical site being in close proximity to two major arterial roads (Jane Street and Bloor Street). These major arterial roads are causing our streets to be used as an alternative cut through to the above-named streets. This as well as having TTC bus and subway service at Armadale, an adjacent Green-P (144 Stalls adds vehicular volume), a busy school zone and three construction projects at Jane and Bloor. We have had increased police enforcement, which 170 violations have been written up, in the last while. We have had parking enforcement working diligently. The document from the Manager of Traffic Operations, under Links on the right, outlines study findings and solutions. We are particularly concerned about the Armadale / Weatherell intersection where the stop signs are frequently ignored and there is plenty of pedestrian traffic en route to the nearby school and TTC. Vehicles are blocking residents driveways or ignoring posted signage. We the undersigned believe that Armadale Ave / Weatherell St / Nelles Ave are unique because of their proximity to Jane / Bloor and the TTC. We also feel that new developments will accentuate traffic and parking problems including new condo developments and St. Pius school expansion. We would like Councillor Bill Saundercook to put in place measures that respond to our concerns regarding traffic and parking in our neighbourhood.
