This petition is for traffic calming between Elliot and Monticello Aves on Ridge St. The goal is enforcement of the 25mph speed limit and traffic management and pedestrian safety in the two intersections in the block: Ridge and Oak, and Ridge and Dice. This can be done by:

1. Enforcement of 25mph speed limit,

2. Pedestrian-initiated light-up crosswalks and new line painting in the two intersections (similar to Avon St at the Belmont Bridge),

3. "Don't block the box" in each intersection to ease gridlock during peak times,

Ridge Street is a city entrance corridor and connector to the future Meadowcreek Parkway. Pedestrians, runners and bicyclists share the road. Traffic moves fast and backs up regularly. There are city school bus stops and a day care center. Development is proceeding in the immediate neighborhood bringing new residents. Development is proceeding in the greater neighborhood and city which will increase traffic and pedestrians.
