Neighbors, we are experiencing cars exceeding speed limits on Forkner Drive, especially as the street gets exceedingly used as a cut through. We’ve had several close calls as there are residents with young children and dogs on the street. This happens between the two speed bumps on either end of the road and has become dangerous. We have asked the City of Decatur to do a traffic study to review the situation. If you’re in support of the study, please sign the petition so we have more voices from the neighborhood.
The growth in support signals that the city must prioritize our request for a traffic study. I am now finalizing a formal proposal packet to deliver to the City Manager office for the upcoming council review.

As a resident of Forkner Dr., I would like to protect my kids and neighbors. The speed bumps aren't helping, and it's often hard to get through near the intersection of Forkner and Glendale.

I live on the corner of Forkner and Old Decatur Circle and frequently encounter cars speeding, especially those who have turned onto Forkner from Church Street. The cars pick up a lot of speed from the 3-way stop to the first speed bump. I fully support traffic calming measures.

There is a lot more traffic on Forkner and besides the speeding, many of these cars are going right through the stop sign.

Traffic is a problem, especially from the turn on to Forkner Dr from Church St (where there is still is no turn signal from Church St) all the way to Sycamore Dr.

I’m in favor of more speed bumps! People go way too fast on Forkner.

Forkner isn’t safe for the people and animals who live there due to increased traffic and increased speeding.
