1. The installation of speed humps to slow traffic traveling on Brennen Road.
2. The installation of sidewalks along Brennen Road to allow safe pedestrian traffic along Brennen Road, mainly as it concerns children traveling to and from Brennen Elementary School.
Once complete, this petition will be sent to the Columbia City Council, care of Moe Baddourah. This petition will serve as notice that the residents of the immediate area are in full support of the measure being brought forth. Both Moe Baddourah and Brian DeQuincey Newman, of the City Council, have voiced their support of these measures and are awaiting this show of support from our community.

The feedback I keep hearing from neighbors makes it clear that the danger on Brennen Road is not going away on its own. I am spending my afternoons drafting formal requests for the city council while we wait for an opening to present our case.

There’s “no through trucks” signs on each end of Brennen Rd. I’ve seen cops go right by these 10 wheelers that’s cutting through and not even pay them any attention I’ve stopped some of it by calling the companies if the city was doing there job they would ticket these drivers.
We have lived on Brennen Road for 2 years and we are afraid to let our 14 year old even near the road. Cars come through at such a high rate of speed it even becomes life threatening just trying to check the mail.
We walk our daughter to Brennen and would love to see the sidewalks fixed. They are in terrible condition.
This action is "long overdue". I live on Brennen and observe how fast traffic is daily. Sidewalks have been needed for many years. Now is the time to take this action.
My husband and I are so glad to see this petition. We have tried several times to get help to make Brennen safer for residents, cyclists, pedestrians and drivers, but have been shut down by city bureaucrats every time. Please let us know what we can do to help.

I would like to thank everyone for their support. It seems a lot of our neighbors feel the same way we do about the excessive amount of cut through traffic on Brennen and the negligence of some of those drivers. Please pass on the word to those that live around you. Word of mouth will help get us the support needed. This maybe our best chance to make this happen. Thanks to all.
