It is nothing less than an insult that the New School would not renew the contract of a teacher of Tracyann Williams’s caliber, who has contributed so much to the institution, and who was so admired and revered both by her students and faculty alike, including myself during the decade or so that I had the good fortune to be her departmental colleague.
