as a longtime resident in WARD 4, I know this area well - TP needs to do better with this land and not just make the traffic worse (and risk driving out our community-owned coop).

The Coop is an invaluable community asset and provides excellent service. The proposed plan will not allow it to continue to operate as a successful business which cannot happen!

The latest plan still does not address the concerns raised about the concept plan or fulfill the original directives. If this is the best NDC can do, goodbye to them.

Do not put the coop at risk. Protect our cherished coop and provide picnic tables and inviting community hang out space around the coop.

In addition to significantly increasing risks to pedestrian and bicyclist safety, this development plan will increase congestion even more and make a mockery of the bucolic artistic sketches. I don’t understand why the Council is so determined to pass a redevelopment plan that includes lay-bys and is so out of keeping with the surrounding neighborhoods, including the businesses along Carroll Avenue, those that we have now and those that will come in the future. Why aren’t we focusing on a plan that will help sustain these businesses, for example, by providing above ground parking, instead of underground parking that will further add to congestion, let alone new hazards.

Something basic appears to be fundamentally wrong when the city presumably has made it abundantly clear to NDC that the Coop needs to be an integral part of the development.

The simple fact the people will be the ones living with it and the people are the ones that don't want it should be enough for any mayor to veto a development proposition like this one. This passing should be the final straw for any hopes of reelection for such a "representative of the people."

Why fight it, the city council has refused to listen to the voters for over 3 years about TJ . Our council people do not represent us. It’s a done deal.

I am pro development of this space in the heart of TKPK, however this proposal is not acceptable, as it does not satisfy the parameters set forth at the commencement of this project and does not feel/look/function like the progressive city of TKPK. It is a sub-standard, generic, suburban solution. We can do better.

As cities across the country look to leveraging and growing their local assets, Takoma Park is moving forward with a strategy to weaken local ownership and compromise one of its largest local employers. The City Council should hit reset on the entire process and seek to move forward with a process the reflects the values and community input of the residents of the city.

What a sad state of affairs. Why not serve the humans rather than the money? The vibrant community that relies on safety and togetherness, the community that made this location attractive in the first place, should be heeded.
