I think we finally have the movie effects technology to possibly do some justice to this setting. I only wish Banks himself were still alive to be on hand for this if it gets off the ground.

I'm hesitant about letting Hollywood get their hands on the Culture stories because I think they would ruin them. I still think it's a risk worth taking because there's nothing I would like more than a faithful adaptation of Banks' work.

A movie like this would do great honor to Iain M Banks and the family he left behind. His Culture novels are wondrously written, and afford us all a chance to take an adventure that is more grounded in reality than Stars Wars, but somehow feels even more magical.

Would love a good adaptation of of the best sci fi book series that can offer a positive look for the future.

This would be awesome

Culture needs to come to the screen. Do this!
