I spent 10,000.00 for a new septic system in 2004 & not want to connect to town. No unnecessary tax. Plz & TY!

Ridiculous money squandering town officials always coming up with a new way to take the last dollar from our pockets. I reserve the right to vote on how I spend my last dollar. I am not working to support the town of Coventry. Start spending the money wisely, FIX THE ROADS!

You should give people the option, not force them. What about all the people who just installed new septic tanks!

This is absolutely a travesty. how can the town charge 6% interest. Why would we have to pay for this during the sale of our home as well when our current septic system works perfectly fine. This is basically a money making scheme by our town government. Coventry is going to turn into a ghost town! complete BS

People can’t afford these types of bad decisions! This plan will cause the rest of the town building and home to be empty. What is the town thinking!

This is ridiculous do not mandate this on us, I am struggling to pay property and fire tax as is. I have 2 neighbors that just spent a ton on new septic system. This should be up to the owner to tie in PERIOD !!!

I think you should view this as "Not affecting me directly yet." Because yeah, it's going to be affecting you too in the end. By the time it gets to you.. the assessment fees will have quadrupled if we estimate by past assessment fee hikes.

The original interest rates were 8%. That's what they charged us.. so I guess some things have improved.. but it's a marginal comfort considering the overall fiasco this is becoming in town.

It's gone through. It started in the 80's with the line down Tioque.. and then Hopkins Hill so that pockets could be lined from industries that pay their tax dollars to another town. Amazing. First referendum in the 80's was declined. They pushed this through a back door of some sort to avoid dealing with the taxpayers approval or disapproval at all. It's a done deal though.. sell while you still can.

You can appeal to the Council but they'll decline you. We were 150k in medical debt years ago with a brand spankin' new septic system when they declined to give us any sort of break. Just charged us 8% interest. Highway robbery!

Yes, we did and it was voted down.. so it got pushed through some back door that benefits the elites in town but not the average home owner. Obviously...

Same here.. though it occurred many years ago now. It's why we appeared before the council to appeal to them at the time. No one at town hall thought it necessary to clue us in that this was coming down the pike before we replaced our septic.. We would have hooked up vs put in a new septic. Why the silence when we applied for permits on our property? There is no excuse for that in my view.

This needs to be stopped and reviewed to allow home owners a say

Please halt all sewer projects until all Coventery residents have all the information.

This is another disgusting display of corruption of a once great town. Shame on anyone who is for this. Our already inflated town tax dollars seem to only get pocketed.
