The closure if this department will put so many mothers at risk. It will also stunt any growth to our intermountain area, who wants to move to a place where they have to travel 2 hours to deliver their baby. I know as a woman of child bearing years, I would never move to a place where I would be putting myself and my child at risk because of lack of medical care.

Please don't close it down. I had my daughter there back in February. I went to e.r. To get checked. I was at a 10. If I would of had to drive down to Redding. I would of gave birth to her in my car. This community needs OB.

Closing a hospital is never a good idea. Think about the jobs you'll be taking away.

You are putting families out of work and forcing people to go farther out of their way for medical treatment don't do this to our community

We need this hospital to be all it can be. If you start closing departments it's just a matter of time that this hospital will be no longer. Great staff will be losing their jobs and Drs will continue to leave instead of staying. Please don't do this to our community we need the hospital, we need OB, we need surgeries, we need the great staff to continue their greatness, and we need Drs to stay.

I worked at this hospital for 12 years and I know how many people depend on this hospital (including OB dept.) to help them with their medical needs. I have a great friend that has been working there for 30 yrs and now has to wonder every day if she'll have a job the next day. Administration needs to appreciate the employees they have and care more about the people of the Intermountain area and find a way to fix this ASAP!

If you close the OB dept you loose Drs, then you you loose on call anesthetics, then you loose emergency surgeries. Then there goes the jobs for nurses that actually live and will stay here. It's a loose-loose situation if OB is shut down. The big picture needs to be better looked at.

No one disputes the absolute value of our wonderful hospital to the many families and communities in the Intermountain area. Hopefully this forum will lead to a productive public discussion prioritizing our communities' needs (including this issue of OB services) and how the hospital and community can work together to meet those needs that are so vital to rural communities like ours.

If there is no OB we will lose Doctors, as it is the new and existing Doctors are talking about leaving because having an OB Department was a selling point on their coming to Big Valley Medical Center, Mayers Hospital and the InterMountain Area

Here's to hoping the community gets some answers..It's so sad to lose this part of the hospital..It's much nicer for everyone to have babies born where everyone can be together..Redding is harder for some family members to travel to..Hopefully this isn't the start of us losing our hospital..That would be to bad for everyone...

This makes me, a woman who is about to start a family think about living here. It would be scary to be 9 months pregnant and know your doctor is a hour and a half away.

I feel like they should keep it open at least part way or something so if someone needed they could have their baby there. Not everyone can make it down to redding or else where to have their babies :)
I had my first born there and my second was going to be but had an emergency with his birth and had to have him in redding. I loved both my experiences of birthing in Fall river and Redding hospitals and thank all the nurses so much!

I think the community deserves to get answers to all of their questions as we are paying taxes on the hospital every year.

All 3 of my kids were born at Mayers. My third came do fast we would have not made it to Redding. Robin might have died in the car.

I firmly agree the community should be able to ask questions, voice concerns and get answers. I hope the hospital listens to this.
