Think about already heavy traffic, people walking children, seniors or with accessibility issues crossing the bike lanes where bikes go at high speeds and don't yield for people or cars trying to turn and sometimes fly by open street car and bus doors. Do they contribute to the roads and bike lanes? Cars do. Do they have to obey rules of the road? No accountability for traffic infractions or road maintenance and no way to track without license plates.

Managing bike lanes is a good start. Having cyclists obey the rules of the road would help too.

Bike lanes on arterial roads like Bloor St. W. will lead to more congestion with idling traffic. There is already large traffic volumes on roads due to intensifying density on Bloor St. Invest in bike lanes along parklands to promote leisure bike riding.

The city needs to realize one mode of transportation does not fit all. I can not move my children from home to hockey on a bike and now thanks to bike lanes, construction and other dumb city ideas a commute to do anything takes hours which eats into family time, learning time, activity time and gas expenses because of the length of time you now sit and wait. I hardly see any bikes along Bloor in Etobicoke. The amount of money being spent is ridiculous. Counsellors, planners and the Mayor need to see the bigger picture not just focus on destroying lives of ppl who do drive for the few bikes out there. We are not Amsterdam.

Yonge & St Clair was congested enough before the bike lanes. Yesterday I was nearly run over by two electric scooters which are silent and go in and out of the bike lanes.
What is wrong with wide boulevards in big cities? Even aesthetically speaking? The bike lanes on major routes just add to the havoc which already exists in the traffic-congested streets of Toronto.

This has to stop. It should have taken me 10 minutes from DVP to University along Bloor, not the 35 it cost me.

Continuous vehicular congestion from Bloor Street to Heath Street. Accessibility limitations for elderly and disabled, emergency vehicles and pedestrians. Also for cyclists when vehicles turning. You rarely see bikes in lanes on either side of Yonge in any kind of weather. Some cyclists ride on the sidewalk and ride through pedestrian crossings. They really should be licensed like they used to be. Use common sense and restore Yonge Street to four lanes.
