AN APPEAL FROM THE TEAM OF POPULAR YOUTH OF NDC TO NANA KONADU TO RECONSIDER HER DECISION TO CONTEST IN THE UPCOMING DELEGATES CONGRESS IN SUNYANI

We the members of the Team of Popular Youth of the National Democratic Congress (T.O.P.Y NDC),
Being aware of your enormous contributions in the formative periods of the NDC; Acknowledging the various roles you played by bringing the NDC thus far;
Respecting your right under our constitution (NDC, Ghana) to stand for an election;
Taking into consideration your concerns being raised in the NDC and about the Mills’ administration;
Bearing in mind the political ramifications of your decision at this time, Present to you on this fateful day, a petition appealing to you to reconsider your decision to contest the sitting president and the leader of our Great NDC at the upcoming delegates congress in Sunyani for the following reasons:
1)To give president Mills another mandate in 2012 for the smooth continuation of the BETTER GHANA AGENDA.
2)To provide the environment and opportunity in uniting the party and destroy all imaginary factions being created by this contest. 3)To avoid potential loss to the NPP in 2012
4)To debunk the rumour that the NPP is behind your decision hence their(NPP) plans to use you to defeat the NDC in the 2012 elections
5)To present the party in the 2012 elections as a united family behind prez Mills
6)To give another opportunity to the numerous floating voters who voted massively for Mills in the 2008 elections.
We are therefore by this petition, expecting you to show your true love for the party by announcing your decision to step down in your earliest convenience for calm to be restored in the party. We also assure you of our resolve to send another petition to the president, the leader of our party to quickly initiate moves to address these concerns. The atmosphere in the party is becoming increasingly tense as we look toward the congress in Sunyani. I have been spending my nights talking with youth members who worry that a fractured front will only benefit our political opponents. We must keep pressing for unity so we do not lose the progress of the Better Ghana Agenda.

Seeing this level of unity behind our party leadership is truly heartening. It is clear that so many of us share the deep desire to keep our family together and focused on the work ahead.

Nana please listen to the youth. We need to stay together if we want to win in 2012. Dont let the NPP use you to divide us.
Respect your contribution to the party but this is really bad timing. Everyone just needs to support the president so we can keep working.
