As of January 2011, Tony Fletcher Jnr. has been suspended (but not outright banned) from membership of Chertsey SS & NR Club (Surrey, UK) for a substantial period of time;  the actual period of which is as yet undisclosed. This was due to an incident involving his father, who was violently attacked. Tony came to the aid of his father only to be found in breach of club rules.
Tony is 21 years old and we feel that Tony was placed in exception circumstances, and he is still a young man whose good character is being put into question by one spur-of-the-moment action.
Tony is a valued member of the Chertsey SS & NR snooker team who has competed in the Byfleet & District Snooker & Billiards League for the past two seasons. Two fellow members of the club and team, George and Dale Harris, expressed their experience of Tony Fletcher's exemplary conduct as both a club and team member in a letter to the Chertsey SS & NR Committee (dated 18-Jan-2011).
Although suspended, and not banned outright, Tony is being further threatened with not being allowed to represent the club in snooker matches (away fixtures). Kindly sign this petition to pledge your support for Tony so that we can add weight to the have his status reviewed by the Chertsey SS & NR Club with the aim that the period of suspension is either lifted or is as brief as is justifiable.
