Makeup design is important and award-worthy. Hair & wig design is important and award-worthy. Please don't treat them like they don't matter.

Hair, wigs, and makeup are a huge part of the overall effect of a show. To leave them out of recognition for their hard work is harmful at best, and detrimental to the industry, as no one want to work without some recognition for their hard work. Include everyone in the Tonys.

These artists are vital to the theatre and a show’s storytelling and it’s beyond time to acknowledge them.

The amount of work and the quality of work that the wig & hair designers of broadway do is unmatched. The fact that there is not an award to recognize them is simply unbelievable. This needs rectified asap!

This intentional oversight is a travesty. I’m so tired of creating looks on actors for stage and screen for little to no recognition and to be buried in the credits as an afterthought. I have a Masters Degree in Wig and Makeup Design and 30 years in this business. We all deserve better.

As a member of AEA and a scenic designer for 20 years, I find it appalling and elitist that make up/wig designers are not recognized. Only with recognition will we be able to inspire the next generations to pursue these arts that the industry cannot live without.
