Tomey for NC Senate District 9
Kristi Tomey, a 40-year-old Project Manager for IBM and a Wilmington City Councilwoman, her most notable accomplishments include her effort to convince the
City of Wilmington to save several million dollars by expanding the existing Seagate Fire Station on Oleander Drive rather than building a redundant, multi-million dollar facility in the midst of a quiet neighborhood on Greenville Loop Road. Smart expansion rather than wasteful spending is one of her key goals. One of her many talents is the tenacity to dig into any project and her tireless efforts to get the job done right.
Kristi shares our concerns for improved education, affordable health care, and job development in North Carolina. Her unaffiliated status and independent thinking gives her the unique ability reach across party lines to find consensus on issues that are critical to North Carolina’s success and stability in the coming years.
Tomey serves as Chairperson of the Appointments, Audit and Legion Stadium committees and is the Vice-Chairperson for the Olsen Park Committee. She volunteers for Phoenix Ministries Greek Wedding, Carousel Center Show and the American Heart Association’s Cape Fear Heart Walk.
