TOKIO HOTEL is a German band (hence the spelling of 'Tokio') but they sing in English, too. They are currently the biggest band in Germany and they are extremely famous all over Europe. Right now, they are topping the European, North and Latin American radio and music television charts. They received last year's MTV European Music Award for Best International Act, beating Depeche Mode, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and 30 Seconds to Mars. They have put on a fantastic performance of their song Monsoon that shocked the world. They released their first English album last year and a special edition was released in the US in May 2008. Tokio Hotel won the 2008 MTV VMA for Best New Artist last September 7th, beating Jordin Sparks, Katy Perry and even Miley Cyrus. Their single Ready Set Go was also nominated for the VMA Best Pop Video and even competed with Britney Spears and the Jonas Brothers. Also, last November 7th, Tokio Hotel won the 2008 MTV Europe Music Award for Best Headliner! Beating Metallica, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, and The Cure! So far, there is only one radio station in Manila playing their songs.
