Budget problems in California have now caused yet another employee bumping at City College of San Francisco. Many of us are saddened and shocked that Mary Parke, our Senior Instructional Designer of Technology Mediated Instruction, will no longer have a job at CCSF as of July 1. Mary has been incredibly helpful, innovative, and resourceful, and our faculty, students, and programs will suffer on many levels without her skills, knowledge, and responsiveness. Obviously this bumping system has serious flaws, but perhaps by signing this petition we'll be able to preserve Mary's position at CCSF and continue to build on the progress we have made since she became our instructional designer.
