Todd Carney is an extremely valuable player to the Sydney Roosters. In 2010 he was an instrumental player in our rise from the wooden spooners of 2009, to grand finalists. He's a young guy who has a problem with alcohol, and has this year struggled with abstaining from alcohol like he managed to do last year. Todd carney has promised the club and the fans to stop drinking and pick up his form which currently is a far cry from his brilliant Dally M play makes, but has failed to deliver on these promises. When you factor in the Roosters' current spot on the ladder and poor form, Todd Carney's broken promises leave fans both angry and disappointed. This is why a lot of Sydney Roosters fans are asking for Steve Noyce to take a hard-line approach and sack Todd Carney. I understand your disappointment and frustration, but I believe the club should keep Todd carney, so I have listed a few reasons why: 1. Look at that face, how could you be mad at that face? 2. If we sack him, in swoop another club (probably one we reeeaaallly hate to sign Todd Carney, he turns his game around and BOOM, it's like 2010 all over again minus the Roosters' jersey and Sydney Roosters fans' happiness.) 3. Look at photos of the boys celebrating in 2010, remember how you felt when they were winning those games, remember the finals we played, remember the 100 minute epic against the Tigers, remember absolutely thrashing the Titans to make it to the Grand Final, remember how you felt strutting down the street wearing your jersey with pride. I say, if keeping Todd Carney gives us that little bit extra something that gets us closer to moments like those, it's worth keeping him. 4. Imagine how the poor guy feels, he sits through so many interviews where he's asked about his Dad and how hard that time was for him, forcing him to relive those moments in his mind, we win against the Bulldogs, but then get thrashed by Manly. Sure you can say "Manly is a top club, we played our best" but it still fucking stings losing like that, no matter the circumstances. I know I certainly had a drink after that game, did you? 5. Todd Carney in tight, navy blue short shorts, need I say more? seriously? you're still not convinced? 6. There's this little thing called Karma, it means you do good, good comes to you, you do bad, well, watch out. Keeping Todd Carney at our club, helping him overcome his demons would be a good deed. Good deed= good luck, maybe this luck would mean a grand final? BUT, sacking him is a bad deed. Bad deed= bad luck. You think we've had enough bad luck already? But as we have all learnt from cartoons, as soon as you say "can things get any worse?" they do. Much worse. So, to translate this to footy terms, we get slapped with a wooden spoon, maybe lose by the biggest margin of all time, maybe don't win a game all year, all our players get hit by a bus as they leave training (god please no)? My point is, it's worth the points with Karma, ask Earl, he knows all about it. So Roosters fans, gather round, and sign this petition to keep the beautiful and talented Todd Carney at OUR club.
