To reform the Intercountry Adoption process so waiting children can be matched with waiting families

those who are not pro adoption should not work in an adoption related job. those who have political power, use it fast, children are the priority & they need homes / forever families

Even if "statistically" adoptions are down globally, there are still hundred's of 1000's of children who are eligible for adoption worldwide. Ireland has 550+ pre approved families who have been deemed qualified and capable. Ireland is failing these children by not having proper processes in place to connect the 2.

No child should be left in institusionalsised care for a day longer than necessary. There are children available to be adopted and desperately in need of a loving family environment. There are also hundreds of approved and qualified families waiting. We just need to join up the dots and make this happen

Please allow for a child finds themselves in need of a forever family to be placed with an adoptive family who will be their forever family, in a system that respects & is fair, safe & transparent to all the stakeholders...

I was adopted to the U.S. from a German orphanage. The corruption and abuse are so widespread and pervasive that nearly half the 40 countries listed by the U.S. State Department as the top sources for international adoption from 1995-2008 temporarily halted adoptions or were prevented from sending children to the United States. Every few weeks another scandal surfaces showing corruption and abuse are part and parcel of this system.

No child should have to live in an orphanage in this day and age.

One of my oldest friends has adopted two beautifull daughters one from Vietnam and one from India her eldest daughter is so bright and smart she is almost 7 and was adopted while still a baby her youngest from India was almost 3 by the time the red tape was finished she is a bright smart and very happy nearly 4 yr old now. she could have been home with her new family over 2 years ago if not for the red tape while we need to know our kids are going to safe homes they do not need to spend their first 2 years in an orphanage while paper work is done.these two sisters are now growing up with mam and dad they are the lucky ones the children growing up in the orphanage who will get to old to adopt because of paperwork are not so lucky

As an adoptive parent of 2 children, I am passionate that children in intuitions find forever homes in Ireland. Sadly this hasn't been happening in Ireland since November 1st 2010. The system at the moment doesn't work for these children, hence I support this petition.

Please sort this out asap.

All children should be afforded the opportunity to live with a caring family and not within an institution.

It is not good enough that the most vulnerable children and forever families are left in limbo like this

No adoptive parent wants anything less that an ethical and transparent adoption. Yes, adoptions are dropping worldwide, but the figures do not add up. There are children legible for adoption living in orphanages needlessly because of our broken system. It needs to be fixed and finding homes for children in need needs to be a priority for the Authority and the Minister. Pre and Post Adoptive parents also deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and not constantly be made to feel like they are doing something wrong by wanting to give a home to a child.

I am passionate that the intersountry adoption system in Ireland must be radically re-engineered, to make it fit-for-purpose. The Adoption Authority of Ireland does not operate like a functioning agency. What other agency refuses to open it office to the public, does not accept telephone calls, does not respond to emails, make opaque and unclear announcements when they rarely make an announcement on their website. It has been 3.5 years since Hague was ratified and 11 adoptions have been effected since then - However 8 of them were from the US and at the moment the AI / ARC have no clarity regarding which agencies will operate with Ireland in the future. It is an apalling vista that there many thousands of children in need of homes worldwide and they are not being served well by our central adoption authority and it an even worse scenario that Irish citizens wishing to adopt are regularly treated with discourteousness and arrogance..they deserve a better service.

Help these Children to find loving family homes as a matter of urgency, they deserve the best
