I agree with this petition.

I was a mortar PL on 2-506IN and a HHC CO commander that had a heavy mortat section. The men that do this job for years need the medical help more these days.

I've seen people get knocked out cold from it. I've seen people go deaf from it. I've lost most of my hearing from it and my brain feels crazy after shooting.

Whoever doesn't believe that this effects a lot of people should go to a few live fire exercises. But don't watch it from the sidelines. Get your head in there and get rattled. See what it feels like.

Ive been doing the job for 8 yrs. still in have tinnitus, get constant headaches when firing too

I suffer from many of the symptoms and was denied on my claim and appeal. My life has been nothing but a fight to live since my discharge. I hope this helps someone to not have to live the dark days uncertain if you’re going to get medical care or be able to get meds.

"luckily" I had been involved in IED blasts so other head trauma was noted. Rushing to the gun in Iraq and Afghanistan didn't afford you the time to worry about what long term effects you were going to face. It was all about supporting who ever needed the fire.

Def needs more awareness

11C for 7 years.. All the fire missions over seas and training back state side.. People just dont understands how loud even with the ear protection.

This is a real price of war. It has destroyed and bothers many lives!
