this is why i am glad i am no longer in college. and this is why i am sad to be in the labeled group of "millennials." little crybabies holding onto their stuffed activism bear scared of the first amendment hiding under their bed, calling for their liberal, socialist "parents" to turn the free light on for them to assure them that their feelings will never be hurt. sticks and stones can break my bones but words will cause me to need counseling in a safe space surrounded by the same people and cause my liberal turrets to spout out unlawful demands. these liberal college kids do not appreciate or respect anything. give to the less fortunate, clothes, shelter, food, they appreciate it so much and thank you and make the most out of it. give these kids exactly what they ask for and it's not what they wanted or not enough. they hate the first amendment but use it so much because we let them. i think we need to turn the tables and silence them instead.

I have to say I am pretty outraged that the WSA is stealing (that's what it is) the money I donated to the Argus to prevent the WSA from censoring it. There's a simple solution - send back the donations and spend the WSA's money. Then we can go back and do this right. I have given to Wesleyan virtually every year for 25 years. Not one more penny until the WSA cuts out the crap. Also, we need names in your coverage, who, exactly, are these people who are trying to censor the paper? Finally, you need a new WSA -- pro-free-speech candidates who pledge to reverse these outrageous actions.

A liberal arts institution by definition should find strength and dynamism from its liberal was. Seems to me the members of the WSA need reflect upon the values upon which the institution is based. Those who take issue should reconsidee their worthiness of serving on said body. And at the very least they should rescind their Atgus defunding effort.

I find it incredibly sad and confusing when theWSA takes such a small minded approach to a stellar publication as the Argus. One would think the student org would want to shine a light on the vision and articulate, creative expression of its own paper.
They need to get their proverbial act together because none of their actions make sense nor seem responsible. If they represent our future leaders, it will look like washington business as usual.
Hopeful for freedom of speech!!!

As a faculty member, I'm very concerned about what seems to be a heavy-handed attempt by the WSA to clamp down on the Argus and, by extension, on free expression.

As the former managing editor of the Columbia Daily Spectator, I'm saddened and shocked to hear of this flagrant attempt to euthanize the Argus. Let your student journalists do their jobs, and recognize that nobody benefits if you just shut down what you perceive as a problem.
