Yesterday the federal government announced changes to the EI system. Changes that are going to be damaging to not just Newfoundland and Labrador but all of Canada due to the seasonal nature of our economy. Basically now if you're a seasonal worker you're going to expect to take a job flipping burgers at Mcdonald's if that job comes up. This despite the fact your job will still be there next year. I agree that EI needed changes, but not changes that are damaging to a lot of people. This petition is going straight to Prime Minister Harper and Human Resources Minister Diane Finley, I want as many people as possible to sign this, hopefully they'll reverse this totally backwards bill. Send this to as many people as possible, if we as a people in this province are as strong and resilient as what we are we'll protest these changes tooth and nail. This is a slap in the face to us all. I've long supported this federal government, not anymore with these changes.
