Pharmacy practice as it exists today, often places the public in a dangerous position. Employer groups and PBMS have placed the pharmacist in a very precarious position by imposing unrealistic metrics that prevent good patient care. The pharmacist is caught in the middle, trying to meet those metrics in order to preserve his job while trying to provide good care for his patient. Often times this means important checks are being missed, at the patient's expense. Intervention is needed. A solution must be found.
