As a responsible dog owner I pick up after my dog. Why not reintroduce a dog warden who can instant fine those that don’t pick up

Try visiting Ryde beach (where dogs are currently forbidden) at the end of a hot summer day and look at the disgusting amount of litter left behind. Dogs aren't the problem!! Humans are the problem! Let's ban people from the beach!

Invest in resources to implement and police existing rules and laws, not this draconian approach which will ultimately harm the islands tourist trade.

I know lots of dog walkers abide by the rules as do I. These areas are special as that is where we can let our dogs run and enjoy themselves

This would be so restricting for dog walkers and it's one of the joys of owning a dog to be able to let him run free along the beach. I thought this was supposed to be a dog-friendly Island. What is the Council trying to do - stop tourists coming here?!!

Banning dogs will reduce much needed tourism. What's wrong with dogs anyway?

Tourists bringing their dogs are very important to the Island’s economy and it’s very short sighted to ban dogs from so many spaces.

Lots of people come to the island bringing their dogs simply because it is so dog friendly. Banning dogs from so many areas is detrimental to the tourist trade as well as to the residents who have dogs. It will not solve the problem of dog fouling as irresponsible dog owners will continue to let their dogs foul and probably will ignore the bans anyway. We don't need bans we need more dog wardens to patrol and apprehend the offenders, then make sure the fines are implemented.

Banning dogs from cemeteries and public places is ridiculous, given that so many of our green spaces are being taken up by building or change of use.

Maybe they deal with anti social behaviour, but there is probably an IST or ISM po dealing with that
