Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Responsible dog owners should not be stopped from walking in public open spaces.

What a ridiculously awful idea.

This is ridiculous, what's the benefit in doing this?

This ban isn’t going to help Island tourism at all. Holiday makers will go somewhere that’s actually ‘dog friendly’ rather than the Isle of Wight, that can’t seem to do anything to actually help itself. And what about parents that take their dog out when they take their kids to the playground? Maybe the council needs to do something about all the empty shops down Newport high street and try to help the Islands economy, rather than damage it further.

May be it is time for cats to have collars with their name and address on it and be kept in their own gardens and not straying in other peoples gardens who do not want them

Its people that want banning from beaches. They create more mess and trouble than any dog. This is a stupid snowflake ruling and this council should be ashamed to have even thought it. I take my dog into the Fighting Cocks when we go for a meal and I look out for his welfare and the diners every time. Responsible owners and dogs should not be disallowed in public places, just make the fines and sentences for abuse of services and places so large people will take notice.

I think we should be able to walk our dogs on the beaches as we do now .

This is crazy. Dogs are already not allowed in the majority of children's play parks and huge parts of the beach for nearly half the year. So many people come to visit the island as they can bring their dogs so surely tourism will reduce.

I don't believe they should ban dogs in public spaces.

The Island draws tourists as a dog friendly place. Providing MORE dog care places and regular poo bin emptying. This will be a damaging public relations move.

This will so affect tourism on the Isle of Wight, why would anyone with a dog bother to visit the island if they are not welcome?
