Where is his place? I don't know the Law building at all but I would love to meet this amazing person.

The fact that this is happening is totally unfair. Why no student consultation?

Hello My Friend Cafe serves other faculties as well as Law, and I remember it fondly from my time at the University of Alberta.

Please let this safe space continue on campus. There are many safe spaces for ranger groups of people, but this space is an open space that helps to build a community culture. Consider this before you close it down. Thanks

Its a shame to see the University not supporting someone with such care and integrity as a business owner. This makes me very upset to hear, especially due to the character of Steve, and should be reconsidered.

I can't believe the administration is doing this without consultation and on the heels of an absurd tuition increase. Shame.

Steve is the best part of every law students experience at the university of Alberta. I also know many fine arts students and professors will make the trek to see him rather than get their coffee at hub. The university not renewing his lease is incredibly short-sighted and callous. Keep this gem of a man where he belongs!

Steve is the best part of every law student's experience at the University of Alberta. If they act in a terrible manner by removing his right to operate his wonderful café, I will never donate a penny to UofA and I will do my level best to ensure that none of my friends, family, or organizations that I'm involved with do either. If UofA destroys Hello My Friend Café, their reputation and their donations will suffer greatly.

Even as an alumni, Steve's cafe still holds a special place in my heart. Have a heart and keep "Hello My Friend" cafe open. Renew the lease.

Members of the faculty are working very hard on this to ensure the case for Steve staying is made to the administration. We understand that students are currently preparing for exams, but we promise we are doing our best, and will ensure that this petition is brought before decision makers.
