To increase Elk populations in northcentral Washington

I believe it is important to help elk in these units to build there presence. It will take a few years but well worth it in my opinion. Advantages to all users of the great outdoors, from viewing to hunting. Also down the road sometime when you do allow hunting in these units for elk, in a managed form, it will help spread out the hunters in the state, and take pressure off the other herds a little. By spreading out the hunters it gives you a better experience in the outdoors. Washington State is the smallest state west of the state of Arkansas, and Washington has the 2nd highest population density in that same area. California is number 1 in density. The economics in that part of the state would change, I would think in a positive way. I have always wondered way there were not more elk in this part of the state.

Restoring the native biodiversity of all our regions should be a priority. A healthy elk population is indicative of a healthy wild land and benefits us all.

A consistent review of these areas should be of high concern to WDFW. There is no reason why these areas shouldn’t have large populations of Elk and yet it seems like they concentrate their efforts on Special/Quality Elk units.
