I think that this is a fantastic idea! I love having the cats on campus, but I think that a TNR programs would give them a better quality of life.

Keep the cats! They are doing no harm to anyone or anything on campus. They are part f the life on campus and just because one person doesn't like them doesn't mean everyone should be disappointed.

I go to NSU. I love this school, but if there is a mass euthanasia of the feral cat population, I will be one of the people picketing by the side of the road. TNR is the best option we have. Depending on the shelter used they also might attempt adoption of the youngest and tamest of the population further reducing the amount of cats on campus. Having a TNR program (which can be run by students for oversight, as FSU and UF do) is best practice and will prevent bad publicity. There are many pre-vet and animal lovers on campus who would love the opportunity to gain knowledge, leadership skills, and have a social outlet (club/organization) while helping adorable animals. The cats also keep away less controllable and desirable animals (vermin such as rats). I'm sure shareholders of Nova Southeastern University would LOVE to see rats running everywhere on campus, because that will happen. So be smart, nsu implement a sustainable program with a positive publicity spin, support your students (those supportive of the cats are the majority) and keep your shareholders happy.
