Can you imagine being forced to stand aside, helpless, as your pets burned alive in their fur?

Thatis exactly what happened to Gene Cranick and his family. On September 29, 2010, Gene Cranick, of Obion County, TN, called the South Fulton Fire Department to report his house was on fire. They did not respond because he had forgotten to pay his $75.00 annual fireservice fee. The department did, however, respond to his neighbor's call and extinguished the neighbor's fire that had crept onto that property. Mr. Cranick had begged the 911 operator to be permitted to pay.The neighbor also offered to pay Mr. Cranick's fee for any amount,on the spot, butboth weredenied.

The firefighters, under the orders of Fire Chief David Wilds, stood by and watched as Mr. & Mrs. Cranick's home burned down with THREE DOGS AND ONE CAT STILL INSIDE.

They perished in the blaze.

This is an act of EXTREME ANIMAL CRUELTY.One of the dogsbelonged toMr. Cranick's seven year old granddaughter. She was inconsolable. How do you explain to a child as to why her doggie had to die?

This fire department allowed these helpless animals, beloved pets, to die needlessly and in, no doubt, great pain and terror. It was an inhumane, cowardly act that was committed both byCommanding Chief David Wilds and the responders. We, the undersigned, demand that Fire Chief David Wilds and the responding firefighters, be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law for their cowardly act of EXTREME ANIMAL CRUELTY. We demand that they receive the maximam penalty allowed by law.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves!
